dubai — The Dubai Naturalisation and Residency Department (DNRD) will not accept from Saturday any health insurance policies that do not comply with the conditions announced previously by the department, Major General Mohammad Al Marri, Director DNRD, announced on Wednesday.

He said that  the insurance cover must be valid for the whole of UAE and should not be restricted to any specific emirate.  The move comes in a bid to offer the best health insurance coverage for all visa applicants, Al Marri said. Under the supervision of DNRD, an agreement was signed between Aman and Oman Insurance Companies to provide the insurance cover at the DNRD headquarters and external centres.

Under the terms of the agreement reached with the two insurance companies,  three different types of health policies will be issued according to the period of stay.  For a 30-day visa cover, insurance policy will cost Dh40, the 90-day visa will cost Dh90 and the multiple entry visa for 180 days will cost Dh185.
